Abigail You Tried（よくやったよ、アビゲイル）

2006年、当時10歳だったアビゲイル・ブレスリンは、映画「リトル・ミス・サンシャイン」で注目され、一気にスターダムにのし上がりました。

今年18歳になった彼女は歌手デビューを果たし、ファーストシングル「You Suck」をリリース。
これがツイッター上でちょっとした騒ぎになってしまいました。

「You Suck（アンタ最低）」というタイトルの通り、誰かに向けられた曲であることは明らか。
そして、それがブレスリンが交際していマイケル・クリフォードについて綴った曲なのではないか、と噂に。

マイケル・クリフォードは「5 Seconds of Summer」のギタリストで、このバンドはOne Directionに次いでホットと言われていて、全米のティーンエイジャーに大人気。

クリフォードのファン達がツイッター上で騒ぎ始め、それが広まってツイッターのトレンド入りを果たす事態にまで発展。

ちなみに「You Tried」とは海外のインターネット上でよく使われるフレーズのようなもの。

誰かが放った侮辱や皮肉がスベった時に「At least you tried（少なくとも、頑張った）」のような形で使われます。

It's used when someone makes an insult or sarcastic remark that doesn't go over well, in the form of "At least you tried."
